About the job
This position involves developing and adapting processes for new products and implementing improvements regarding productivity, energy optimization, cost, quality, and environmental impact for all processes within the Atomization Plant in Halmstad. 

The Process Engineer will manage and participate in various projects. There are some pretty big projects ahead that might be of interest to mention. For example, renovation of the electric arc furnace, electrical high-power projects, continue the work and manage the transition/process from antracit to biocole use. 

As Process Engineer, Matallurgy you:
Coordinate production development within the production unit
Support production management in achieving quality and capacity targets
Participate in product and process development activities as well as quality assurance work
Develop and adapt processes for new products
Represent the Atomization Plant Halmstad in regional and global development projects
Work with continuous improvement and promote Lean tools
Act as project manager / participant in various projects


You will report to Site Manager and be based in Halmstad at the production site.

About you
You have a BSc, MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Material science or similar. A senior Process Engineer from process / steel industry is preferable, but we also welcome the junior Process Engineer to apply. Knowledge within powder metallurgy would of course be great.

This role is operational in nature, and you should feel comfortable and thrive working in the factory. You are naturally curious, have a technical mindset and are constantly willing to learn more and explore new processing possibilities. You have an aptitude for problem-solving and an ability to focus on details while understanding the big picture. You also possess strong interpersonal skills that allow you to engage confidently with a wide range of people.

About the position

To produce the most competitive products, at Höganäs we strive to constantly improve and optimize our production processes. As the newest Process Engineer at our Atomization Plant, your focus will be on the plant's technology and process development. You will work closely with operations and have a focus on process optimization regarding the areas of work environment, external environment, quality, productivity, energy optimization and costs. You will also participate in and drive investment projects with the goal of creating a disruption-free business. As a process engineer at Höganäs your overarching task is to work with process optimization and to coordinate production development. This entails performing risk analyses, cost and investment calculations as well as root cause analyses and impact assessments.

The position is placed in Halmstad in the south of Sweden, and you will report to our Area Manager for melting or atomization.



About you

For the position as process engineer, we are looking for a curious team-player who likes to work in, and lead, cross-functional teams. We believe you to be e a critically thinking and meticulous person with the ability to find solutions with a combined focus on big picture and details. Moreover, you have a structured way of communicating that makes you proficient in relaying your work to others.

To find success in this role, we believe you have a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering. You have several years' experience from working in the process industry, preferably with metallurgical processes. If you possess specific knowledge or expertise in the areas of oven technology, refractory materials, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, automation and/or combustion, we view this as strongly meritorious. This also includes and extends to knowledge in and experience from implementing LEAN.

Om Tjänsten

För att framställa de mest konkurrenskraftiga produkterna till våra kunder strävar vi efter att ständigt förbättra och optimera våra produktionsprocesser. I rollen som processingenjör på Atomiseringsverket kommer du att fokusera på anläggningens teknik- och processutveckling. Du kommer att arbeta nära den operativa driften med fokus på processoptimering avseende arbetsmiljö, yttre miljö, kvalitet, produktivitet, energioptimering och kostnader. Du kommer också att delta, och vara drivande, i investeringsprojekt, allt med mål att skapa en störningsfri verksamhet. Som processingenjör hos oss har du i uppgift att driva processoptimering samt koordinera produktionsutvecklingen på Atomiseringsverket. Du göra riskanalyser, optimeringar, kostnads- och investeringsberäkningar samt utför rotorsaksanalyser och konsekvensanalyser

Tjänsterna är placerade i Halmstad och du kommer att rapportera till områdeschef för smältning eller atomisering.



Om dig

Vi söker en nyfiken, stark lagspelare som gillar att arbeta i, och leda, tvärfunktionella team. Du har ett kritiskt tänkande, är noggrann och har förmågan att hitta lösningar utan att tappa fokus på detaljer. Dina resultat rapporterar du på ett strukturerat och lättförståeligt sätt. Vi tror att du har en civil- eller högskoleingenjörsexamen inom metallurgi, maskinteknik, kemi, fysik, processdesign eller motsvarande. För en av rollerna har du med fördel mångårig erfarenhet inom processindustri, metallurgiska processer eller liknande. Kan du även bidra med kunskap inom ugnsteknik, eldfasta material, värme- och massöverföring, termodynamik och/eller förbränning är det starkt meriterande.

Har du sen tidigare även erfarenhet av att arbeta med LEAN, Six sigma eller liknande så är det ett stort plus.
